As each November day passes by and the holidays near, I find myself reflecting upon the meaning of gratitude. A certain quote always resonates this time of year:
“It’s not happiness that brings us gratitude. It’s gratitude that brings us happiness.”
I feel extremely grateful & extremely happy this 2017!
For many of the common and obvious things. But this year, I also feel especially thankful for the success I am experiencing with Ann Oakes Design, a business that has always been my dream. I am grateful for a flourishing firm, an expanding team of Design Associates and a portfolio of clients who I truly enjoy working with. As the year nears its end, I simply want to say thank you. Thank you for allowing Ann Oakes Design to be part of your interior design projects. In my appreciation, I would like to offer a few timely decor ideas for your Thanksgiving celebration. These ideas came to mind as I prepare for my own holiday and recall ones I have hosted in the past.
Buy holiday-specific salad plate sets that compliment your own dinnerware. Use them to decorate your table and then remove them before serving. Reserve them for use as your dessert plates. Buy complete holiday dinnerware sets for your favorite holiday or those you regularly host.
Place bud vases at individual place settings for a personalized touch. Bud vases filled with fresh flowers says something special to your guests, allows you to bring more color and texture to the table and provides for a more elegant table setting.
Consider purchasing and adding festive stemware. Colorful glasses that draw upon hues from the rest of your table sets your holiday arrangement apart from the standard.
Provide a center piece arrangement that balances both color and height. Collect accessories from around your home or buy seasonal accessories from your favorite retail stores. Whether you repurpose what you have or buy a few new accessories, have fun arranging and rearranging your centerpiece ideas.
As we all well know, preparing for a holiday is a grand undertaking. The process of planning for, shopping for, decorating for and hosting a holiday is a time-consuming project and often stressful. Please know that the team at Ann Oakes Design remains available to clients for support during this season. No project is too small. We are here to help from tablescapes to tree trimming.
